The Wolf of Wall Street

A 2014 drama, comedy, biography, directed by the one and only Martin Scorsese. The movie is based on the memoirs of Jordan Belford and tells a story of a famous stock-broker and his way of living life, doing business and making money. The movie was nominated in various categories at the 86th Academy Awards. The picture won a Golden Globe (Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture) with Leonardo DiCaprio taking the award home. The movie is screened in English.

International Bike Race

Race Horizon Park is a well-known international bicycle race. Since 2008, the race has been a yearly event in Kyiv. Teams from Moldova, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Italy, Georgia and Ukraine are going to participate this year. The race used to start start at Maidan Nezalezhnosti, but this time the start place will be Sofiyivska Square.

Boombox

Founded in 2004 this hip-hop funky-groove band has won over the hearts of millions. Celebrating their 10 year anniversary, the band is putting on a show in Kyiv. A mix of the band’s most famous hits from their six released albums, music from their 2013 record “Terminal B” and a show to remember should be expected by Kyiv fans.

Shakespeare’s Globe in Kyiv

In honor of the 450th birthday of William Shakespeare, one of the Britain’s most outstanding theaters is coming to Kyiv. As a part of their tour, the theater will showcase Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” Written in the 1600s, the play is considered to be one of the most famous and recognized works in the world.

Sophie Villy

Sophie Villy is about to introduce her new album “Dress” in Kyiv. Known for her unique voice and soulful singing, Villy has been owning the hearts of the fans all over the globe. This February “The Guardian” included her song “Connected” in their Top 6 tracks from all over the world. The artist chose Kyiv to be the first place for the album’s showcase.

Jesse Cook

The Canadian guitar virtuoso is playing one show in Ukraine. Famous for his take on flamenco music, ethno jazz and fusion, the artist has released eight studio albums. Cook had eleven nominations for Canada’s JUNO Awards with a win in the Best Instrumental Album category for his 2001 record “Free Fall”.
