Tbilisi - The Georgian Central Election Committee continues processing results of local elections held on June 15, according to which second tour of mayoral elections is possible in Tbilisi and some other cities as candidates do not get over 50 percent votes.

As of now, the Central Election Committee has processed 65.7 percent votes. Candidate of the Georgian Dream party David Narmania leads in Tbilisi mayoral elections with 46.2 percent and candidate of the former ruling party United National Movement Nika Melia is second with 27.7 percent.

Votes are distributed approximately the same way in proportion lists to municipal and regional Sakrebulo (city and district councils).

Second tour in the Tbilisi mayoral elections might take place, Central Election Committee Chairperson Tamar Jvania told reporters.

The headquarters of the Georgian Dream ruling party was celebrating victory in late June 15. Coalition leader, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told his supporters – ahead of the Central Election Committee releasing initial official information – that Georgian Dreams was winning confidently in all cities and regions.
