ZAPORIZHIA - The flight ban, introduced by the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service from Dec. 13, has already cost around Hr 150,000 to the Zaporizhia International Airport.

“Losses from canceled flights have already amounted to Hr 150,000,” one of the airport managers told Interfax on Monday.

The ban led to the cancellation of 15 flights to Moscow, Kyiv and Hurgada, the company said.

“Rumors about the alleged NATO aircraft landing these days at Zaporizhia Airport are baseless because the airport has been close since Dec. 13,” the airport managers also said.

Currently, there is no sign of activity on the runway at Zaporizhia Airport – it is empty, an Interfax correspondent reported.
