The ongoing situation in eastern Ukraine was the topic of conversation during a meeting between Ukrainian Premier Arseniy Yatsenyuk and European Council President Donald Tusk in Brussels on Dec. 15.

“Yatsenyuk informed Donald Tusk on the efforts of the Cabinet of Ministers to stabilize the financial and economic state of the country, including the reform priorities of the new government. During the conversation special attention was given to the situation in eastern Ukraine, and to the counteraction of Russian aggression,” the government’s press service reported on Monday.

Both parties welcomed the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement as a key step in Ukraine’s transition towards Europe.
