Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said that the situation with payment for consumed natural gas in the eastern regions worsened and resulted in Hr 1 billion rise in debt in 2014.

“There is a constant tendency of worsening of the payment state for natural gas. No money – no gas,” the premier said after the phone-in meeting with the heads of regional state administrations.

He urged to settle issues with payments for the energy resources.

“The biggest gas debtor is Donetsk region. Donetsk region owns nearly Hr 4 billion to Naftogaz,” the head of the government said adding that Luhansk region also owes Hr 1.2 billion.

“Only in 2014 additional volume of debts in these two regions grew over Hr 1 billion,” the premier said.

Yatsenyuk also said that the government allocated Hr 7 billion to compensate tariff differences.
