Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has asked the new leadership of the Antimonopoly Committee to finish the investigation into several incidents regarding international investors within three months.

“In order to have a firm footing, [I have ordered the leadership of the committee] to engage in technical consultation with the European Commission over these most sensible issues. They probably will provide their informal position – this is a right inquiry or wrong, whether it meets European standards or [if it] doesn’t correspond [with these standards],” he said.

Yatsenyuk said that finishing the investigation regarding international investors will allow the Antimonopoly Committee to become independent in any other investigation it conducts.

He instructed the committee’s leadership to meet with their colleagues in Ukrainian business associations, the USA International Entrepreneurs Association (UIEA), and the European Business Association (EBA) to discuss a transparent and fair end to the ongoing investigation.

“We need to speak less, and to end two inquiries to prove that we got a new antimonopoly policy on a par with the new chairman of the committee,” he said.
