Washington has criticized a Russian Defense Ministry report about the circumstances of the crash of a Malaysian passenger plane in eastern Ukraine, U.S. State Department spokesperson Marie Harf has said.
“We’ve seen a history throughout this conflict of the Russian
government putting out just sheer propaganda, falsehoods about what’s
happening,” she said at a briefing in Washington on Tuesday, July 22, while
commenting on intelligence data provided by the Russian side regarding
the plane crash in eastern Ukraine.
Harf noted that the U.S. has “a great deal of open-source evidence
and intelligence ” that contradicts the version of events given by the
Russian military.
