You're reading: United Nations Refugee Agency to support displaced persons in Kyiv region with 1.3 milion Hr

Kyiv Regional State Administration and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) signed a memorandum of mutual understanding in Kyiv on Wednesday 17, the administration's press service said.

The memorandum’s signatories were Kyiv Regional State Administration Head Volodymyr Shandra and UNHCR Regional Representative for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Oldrich Andrysek.

‘Within the framework of this cooperation project, Kyiv region will receive from the UN Refugee Agency UAH 1.3 million for rendering targeted financial support to the most disadvantaged displaced persons. A total of 221 families of those resettling in Kyiv region will be given UNHCR allowances of 3,500 Hr to 7,000 Hr,’ the report runs.

Andrysek stressed that the aid would be the first step in their cooperation.
