UN Assistant Secretary General for Human Rights Ivan Simonovic has expressed concern about the violations of human rights in Crimea and the increasing number of cases of disappearance of the Tatars.

A new disturbing trend in the Crimea has added to the previous human rights violations, which is the cases of enforced disappearance, he said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday.

Simonovic expressed his concern over the abduction of four Tatars in Crimea, one of whom was found dead.

The UN assistant secretary general noted that these people should be found and their abductors punished.
