A ceasefire agreement signed in Minsk on Sept. 5 envisions the freeing of hostages, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said.

“It also includes a provision on freeing all hostages,” Lysenko said at a news conference in Kyiv on Sept. 5 evening.

The ceasefire regime will provide the opportunity for “swapping hostages” and continuing the peace negotiations, Lysenko said.
