You're reading: Ukrainian humanitarian aid to be distributed among refugees from Donbas

The staff of the Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways (Kyiv) on Aug. 21 are sending humanitarian aid to a temporary accommodation facility for temporarily displaced people in Volnovakha, Donetsk region.

 “Some of the cargo from the staff of the Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways (Kyiv) will stay in the Volnovakha facility, and the rest will be taken by officials from the Ukrainian State Emergency Service department in the Donetsk region to centers for helping displaced persons on the coast of the Sea of Azov, where, according to official statistics, over 22,000 displaced persons are located,” Andriy Lysenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, said at a briefing on Thursday.

Lysenko said he has information that a convoy carrying humanitarian aid from Dnipropetrovsk should arrive in eastern Ukraine tomorrow. The convoy is carrying 200 tonnes of essential goods (cereals, flour, sugar, fish and meat preserves, and baby food).
