The Ukrainian Air Force school in Kharkiv is holding its cadets from Crimea, who have decided to quit after their home region joined Russia, said Valery Kosarev, head of the Crimean State Council's education commission.

“We have a problem: 143 people at the Kharkiv Air Force school got stuck. They are simply not being allowed to leave Ukraine. The mothers’ committee traveled there, their children are simply not being let go. They say: either pay their tuition fees or we’ll send them to serve in the Ukrainian Army,” Kosarev told a press conference in Simferopol on Tuesday.

Cadets from all Ukrainian military schools will be able to continue studying their professions at military schools and academies in Russia, said the chairman of the Crimean parliament committee.
