The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine has officially confirmed Ukraine's participation in the Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in Rio-de-Janeiro, Brazil, from Aug. 5 to Aug. 21, 2016.
The official response to the invitation of the International Olympic
Committee has been signed by President of the National Olympic Committee
Serhiy Bubka.
The licenses for the Summer Olympic Games were granted to 105
Ukrainian sportsmen and woman in 17 categories. The final national team
of Ukraine will be approved by the executive committee of the National
Olympic Committee in June 2016, Bubka said.
The National Committee has paid over Hr10 million in scholarships
for sportsmen and women and coaches for preparation for the Olympic
Games. The financial and material support by the National Olympic
Committee for the Olympic Sports federations during this Olympic cycle
totals nearly Hr 58 million.
