If Kyiv cannot reach an agreement with Moscow on buying another 5 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas, it could replace it by reverse-flow gas deliveries from European countries and fuel oil, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

“We need another 5 billion cubic meters of gas, which we could acquire from Russia. I am quite skeptical about the possibility of building relations with Russia, but let’s see how events develop on the 29th of October,” Yatsenyuk said in opening a Cabinet of ministers meeting on Oct. 22, adding that there are about 17 billion cubic meters of gas in Ukraine’s gas storage facilities now.
