The Batkivschyna Party is joining negotiations on setting up a coalition at the Ukrainian parliament, Batkivschyna leader Yulia Tymoshenko said, calling for signing a coalition deal as soon as possible.

“I sincerely believe that a coalition agreement will be [signed] not by Dec. 1, as it has been promised by the key political forces that received the most support, but by the end of the week. There can be no weekends, no Saturdays or Sundays. We need to act,” Tymoshenko said in the Shuster Live TV program on Friday evening, Nov. 7.

Batkivschyna will start negotiations on a coalition on Saturday, she said.

The documents available are sufficient for forming a government, and therefore there should be no delays with its formation, she said.

“We have been shown a coalition agreement: it has everything, and there is nothing to polish there. We also have the association agreement – by the way, it also contains a road map and room for amendments, and it details every reform – and it can also serve as a coalition agreement,” Tymoshenko said.
