Former MP and Co-Chair of the Popular Front of Novorossiya Oleh Tsariov has been put on the wanted list in Ukraine.

“Tsariov has been put on the wanted list in Ukraine. In addition, there is a court ruling on his arrest and delivery to court for taking him into custody as a preventive measure,” the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported on Wednesday.

The Prosecutor General’s Office earlier opened a criminal investigation against Tsariov, accusing him of making calls for separatism.

On May 29, the Prosecutor General’s Office applied to the Verkhovna Rada for permission to prosecute Tsariov and remand him in custody. Parliament subsequently voted to revoke Tsariov’s deputy immunity from prosecution.

On June 26, members of the parliament of the self-proclaimed Union of People’s Republics (Luhansk People’s Republic and Donetsk People’s Republic) elected Tsariov as the chairman of the parliament of the union. He is a participant of the consultations of the Ukraine-Russia-OSCE group.
