You're reading: Three customs posts in Rostov region are not working due to closure of customs posts in Ukraine

Rostov-on-Don - The Ukrainian customs point Novoazovsk suspended its operation for several hours in the early hours of Friday, but the Russian customs officers continued working, Rayan Farukshin, the head of the press service for the Southern Customs Department, told Interfax on Friday, Aug. 1.

“Novoazovsk did not work between 11:30 p.m. on Thursday and 6:50 a.m.
on Friday. Officials of the neighboring Russian customs post
Veselo-Voznesensk continued to conduct customs operations and admit
people and road vehicles to the territory of Russia,” Farukshin said.

In the meantime, the operation of three Russian customs posts
(Gukovo, Novoshakhtinsk, and Kuybyshevo) remains suspended because the
relevant customs posts in Ukraine are not working, he said.

“All customs posts on the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Rostov
region are ready to admit people and road vehicles. The staff of the
posts Gukovo, Novoshakhtinsk and Kuybyshevo remain in their workplaces
and are waiting for the customs posts on the Ukrainian side to begin
working,” Farukshin said.
