Kamensk-Shakhtinsky – Reporters at the base of a convoy carrying humanitarian aid for the southeast of Ukraine near the town of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in Russia's Rostov region have checked the contents of white Kamaz trucks, an Interfax correspondent reported from the scene on Thursday, Sep. 18.

“The third convoy bound for Luhansk will consist of about 170 vehicles, the KAMAZes are ready for departure,” one of the convoy drivers told reporters on Thursday, Sep. 18.

Around 2,000 tonnes of aid will be delivered to Ukraine: foodstuffs, drinking water, the essentials, he said.

The residents of Ukraine’s southeast will also receive around 300 power generators and over 30 tonnes of medication, the driver said.

The journalists randomly inspected the freight compartments of some of the vehicles, the Interfax correspondent said.

It was reported earlier that the first humanitarian convoy of 280 white Kamaz trucks crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border on Aug. 22, 2014. The second, consisting of 220 vehicles bound for Luhansk, delivered aid last Saturday.
