WASHINGTON - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine is still generally respected by the conflicting parties.

“The ceasefire in Ukraine is generally respected, but it remains fragile,” he said at a press conference in Washington on March 25.

According to him, the parties must abide by the Minsk agreements to stabilize the situation in eastern Ukraine.

“The important thing now is that the ceasefire is fully implemented and respected, there is a complete withdrawal of all the heavy weapons, and that the [OSCE] monitors have full access so they can monitor the ceasefire,” Stoltenberg said.
