Slovakia has already started technical preparations for organizing reverse supplies of natural gas from the EU to Ukraine, Slovakia Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajcak has said.

“We have already started technical preparations for reverse [gas
supplies], i.e. there are no grounds for accusations,” he said at the
Kyiv security forum.

The official also said he is to meet with Prime Minister of Ukraine
Arseniy Yatseniuk and Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan,
whom he invited to Bratislava.

“Today I will speak with Yatseniuk and Prodan. Our government is
ready,” he said, asked when Slovakia will unblock the reverse route of
gas supplies to Ukraine.

According to him, the operators of gas transportation systems of both
countries – Eustream and Ukrtransgaz – on April 15 will hold a meeting,
at which they will discuss the nuances of reverse organization.

As reported, the organization of reverse gas supplies through
Slovakia would allow the supply to Ukraine from the EU of up to 20
billion cubic meters of gas. Ukraine today has two reverse directions –
through Poland and Hungary – with a total capacity of about 7.2 billion
cubic meters of gas per year.
