Belgrade – Ukraine wants to study the successful experience of Serbia in its relations with the EU, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

“We’ll continue our active dialogue with Serbia, which is aimed at giving mutual support on the way to European integration,” he told the press in Belgrade on Thursday.

Yanukovych said today’s talks confirmed that at present there is non-used potential for building-up volumes of bilateral trade and investments, and deeper cooperation in energy, engineering and agriculture.

He said the talks in general were very productive.

“The agreements achieved, no doubt, will favor the consolidation of friendly bilateral relations and stirring up the whole spectrum of Ukrainian-Serbian cooperation,” Ukrainian president said.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic stressed the importance of the signing of the Association Agreement with EU for Ukraine.

He said both states would make further efforts to seek the European integration.

“We’ll do everything possible for the European way to become possible,” the Serbian president said.

Nikolic also added that a joint statement on determining further ways to deeper cooperation between Ukraine and Serbia had been signed.
