The United States Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Samantha Power, has said that she arrived in Ukraine to help launch a UN office for support of the Minsk agreements that aim to resolve the crisis in eastern Ukraine.

At her meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday, Power expressed support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and said that she arrived in Ukraine to see how the Minsk agreements are being implemented, the president’s press office said.

She also noted the importance of a very strong G7 statement on Ukraine.

The U.S. ambassador to the UN also said that she had visited refugees from Donetsk Oblast.
