Moscow - Russia is not planning to introduce visa requirements for Ukraine, says Konstantin Romodanovsky, the head of the Federal Migration Service (FMS).

“We are not following the path of a tougher specific attitude towards
citizens of a fraternal country, who have found themselves in such a difficult
situation because of the domestic conflict,” Romodanovsky said in an interview
due to be published in the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper on Dec. 29.

In 2015, the Ukrainians who come to Russia will be subject to the same rules
that will be introduced for citizens of other countries, with which Russia has
non-visa travel, the official said.

“So far Ukrainian citizens enter Russia with their internal passports. A
different system of work permits will be introduced from January 1. Ukrainian
citizens will be required to obtain a patent to work for individuals and
companies,” the FMS chief said.
