You're reading: Prosecutor’s office continues in courts to seek abolition of privatization of 60.8 percent in Donbasenergo

The Kyiv Prosecutor's Office under has appealed against a decision of the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which refused to satisfy the claim of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) to invalidate and cancel the legal acts of state authorities on the alienation of a state-owned stake in PJSC Donbasenergo.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the privatization of this
state-owned stake was carried out with significant violations of legal
requirements, however the trial court dismissed the claims.

As reported, in August 2013 PJSC Energoinvest Holding (Donetsk) of
Ihor Humeniuk won a tender for the privatization of a 60.8 percent stake in
energy generating company PJSC Donbasenergo, offering Hr 718.92 million
for the shares.

In Feb. 2014, PGO appealed to the Kyiv District Administrative
Court with the request to invalidate the privatization of 60.8 percent in
Donbasenergo.

Donbasenergo exploits Starobesheve and Sloviansk TPPs with a total installed capacity of 2,880 MW.
