Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has participated in a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in honor of the 201st anniversary of his birth, the presidential press service has said.
According to the report, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Head of Kyiv Regional State Administration Volodymyr Shandra, the members of government, MPs, the representatives of the civil society, culture and arts took part in the ceremony along with Poroshenko.
On March 9 Ukraine celebrates the 201st anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko.
