President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that now Ukrainian people struggle for European values and territorial integrity when Russia attempts to destabilize the situation in the country hampering on country's way to the European Union.

“Russia understands that it is impossible to win this war because of Ukrainians’ very strong spirit, because Ukraine is a nation united as never before, because of the global solidarity with Ukraine,” the president said in an interview with Bloomberg, as the presidential press service reported on June 15.

Being asked what is real purpose of Russia, the head of Ukrainian state said: “To destabilize the situation in Ukraine.”

“This isn’t a war inside of Ukraine. This is aggression, aggression of Russia against Ukraine, with the only one purpose – destabilizing the situation in Ukraine and stopping Ukrainian people in their right to leave in the European Union, to share European values, and not any more to be a part of the Russian empire,” Poroshenko said.
