The first batch of armored Humvees for the Ukrainian Army will arrive this week, according to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

“I have good news. Next week we will get the first 30 armored Humvees by air,” he said at a meeting with Ministry of Defense volunteers last week.

As reported, the U.S. will provide Ukraine with additional non-lethal equipment. The presidential press service has said that during a phone call between Poroshenko and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, Poroshenko “expressed his gratitude for additional American non-lethal weapons in the sphere of security.”

The American aid is to include drones, communication systems, radars for mortar and artillery detection, night vision equipment and other items with a total value of $75 million, and 230 military vehicles as well.
