You're reading: Poroshenko: Draft coalition agreement already prepared

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that a draft coalition agreement for people's deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation has already been prepared.

“My team has already prepared a draft coalition agreement. It is based on Strategy 2020. This is a plan of changes that we have developed. Its implementation will ensure the introduction of European standards of living and the country’s rightful place in the world. By 2020, Ukraine should be ready to apply for membership of the European Union,” he said in an address released by his press service on Saturday.

Poroshenko said that the coalition agreement should be based on a clear reform plan, rather than on empty promises or the distribution of posts on party quotas.

“If we stick to this approach, no one and nothing will stop the reforms… The implementation of the Strategy 2020 program will mean economic recovery, jobs, a decent salary, a decent pension, a high scholarship, and a successful own business,” he said.

He also promised to do everything in his power so that a new coalition and a new government could be formed as quickly as possible.
