You're reading: Poroshenko calls France to speed up ratification of EU-Ukraine Association Agreement

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called on the President of the National Assembly of France Claude Bartolone to speed up the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

“The President of Ukraine has urged the President of the National Assembly of France to speed up the ratification of the Association Agreement,” Poroshenko’s press secretary Sviatoslav Tsegolko wrote on Twitter on April 22.

Poroshenko is currently on an official visit to France.

As reported with reference to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis, the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement has already been ratified by 14 countries: Bulgaria, Great Britain, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, and Sweden.
