You're reading: Parliament ratifies agreement on Ukraine’s status of associated member of the European Organization for Nuclear Research

The Ukrainian parliament has ratified an agreement signed by Ukraine and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) on providing Ukraine with a status of an associated member of the organization.

A total of 251 out of 317 lawmakers registered in the session hall supported on the law on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

According to the documents to the law, the ratification of the agreement with CERN will create favorable conditions for the country’s integration into European scientific and research space, allow Ukrainian scientists to get direct access to newest research databases, take part in scientific experiments and conduct independent researches in high-energy physics on the basis of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

As reported, Ukraine and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) signed on Oct. 3 an agreement for the provision of an associate membership of this organization to Ukraine.
