Over 30 employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are already in close proximity to Russia's Donetsk checkpoint at the Russian-Ukrainian border, ICRC spokesperson Galina Balzamova told reporters on Aug. 21.

“It has not been determined for now how ICRC employees will cross the Russian-Ukrainian border but this will emerge after the coming trilateral meeting between representatives of Russia, Ukraine and the ICRC,” Balzamova said.

It will also become clear following the meeting whether the number of Red Cross representatives accompanying the convoy should be increased, she said.

“In this case we are ready to bring several more ICRC representatives to the Donetsk checkpoint,” Balzamova said.
