KHARKIV - Over 2,000 policemen will be involved in keeping peace and order in Kharkiv region on holidays on the occasion of Ukraine's National Flag Day, Independence Day and Kharkiv's Liberation Day.
According to the public relations department of Kharkiv Interior Ministry office, nearly 60 mass events are planned in the region through August 22-24.
‘Nearly 70,000 citizens are expected to participate. Over 2,000 policemen will ensure order in events’ venues,’ reads the statement.
In addition, the police are put on the high alert starting on August 22, 2015.
‘Policemen urge citizens to adhere to the laws and not to provoke conflicts,’ Interior Ministry office in Kharkiv region said.
