A patrol of the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the OSCE has been blocked by unknown gunmen and subjected to a thorough search in the town of Komsomolsk, which is controlled by Russia-backed militants.

“In Komsomolske (42km south-east of Donetsk), at the
entrance of a “military” compound, the SMM cars were blocked by a car
and uniformed male armed persons. The armed persons checked SMM cars
outside (the roof of the car) looking for cameras and asked about any
pictures taken,” reads a report for July 16 posted on the OSCE SMM
website on Friday evening.

Ten minutes later, the SMM was allowed to pass, the mission said.
