Ukraine and the European Union must move to a new level of relationship, in particular regarding the reforms Ukraine is to implement, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said.

Now it is time for Ukraine and the European Union to move to a new level of relationship, which will bring definite results. This would be an implementation of reform, she said at a press conference in Kyiv on Dec.17.

Mogherini has said that the EU welcomes the Ukrainian government’s decision to reform the country, and urged the prompt implementation of these reforms.

She said that on arrival in Brussels on Dec. 18 she would report her findings from her two day visit to Ukraine to the Council of Europe.

The European Union’s foreign policy chief said that the EU backs Ukraine in its readiness to fulfill the Minsk deal.

“We discussed the way in which the European Union – keeping its unity, which has been there and will continue to be there – can support implementation in full, and on all points the Minsk agreement,” she said, promising stand with Ukraine until she was sure that this conflict comes to an end in a way that fully respects Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
