You're reading: Miller: Gas supplied on pre-payment may not be enough for Ukraine if winter is abnormally cold

Brussels - The pre-paid gas supply scheme will create risks at the peak of the winter cold period in Ukraine, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told reporters after the three-party gas talks in Brussels in the early hours of Oct. 22.

“If the supplies are pre-paid, we will, without a doubt, only supply the amount Ukraine pays for. On the other hand, it needs to be understood that these amounts are not enough to keep up Ukraine’s gas balance and provide for all consumers if the winter is really abnormally cold. For this reason, we see certain risks that may arise if small amounts are stated,” Miller said.
