Medicine consumption in Luhansk region since June 2014 has halved, that in Donetsk region was down by 20-30 percent, the head of the logistics department of Pharmplanet pharmaceutical distributor, Yevhen Nikushin, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the expert, in general, “the sales of drugs in “flash points” decreased by 20-60 percent, as a result the loss of the market is about 3 percent per month.”

“The volume of consumption in Luhansk region since July 2014 has more than halved. Thus, the pharmaceutical market from this period monthly sees a shortage of about 2.5 percent of medicine consumption. Consumption in Donetsk region declined by 20-30 percent, due to which the market sees a shortage of about 2 percent,” he said.

Commenting on the channels of medicine supplies to the ATO area, the expert noted that such supplies are made “through large network customers, who are leaving the ATO area.”
