You're reading: Lukashenko wants to see Ukraine united, integral, non-aligned country

Ukraine remaining an integral, sovereign and non-aligned country is beneficial for Minsk, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

“You do realize perfectly why federalization is needed. And you
understand perfectly to what this federalization could lead. If we
stipulate legally, virtually with Ukrainians’ hands the split of Ukraine
between east and west, the possibility that someone will want to get a
piece of this federation is not ruled out tomorrow,” Lukashenko said in
Minsk on Tuesday, when addressing the Belarusian nation and parliament.

“Do we, Belarusians, need this? No, we want Ukraine to be united, integral and a non-aligned country,” Lukashenko said.

“So why we should escalate the situation and create some
uncontrollable or other chaos in Ukraine? I am utterly opposed to this. “

“Ukraine should be united and integral – its people deserve this,” Lukashenko said.
