Vilnius - The Lithuanian diplomatic mission to Ukraine on January 1, 2015 assumed the duties of the NATO Contact Point Embassy (CPE) in the country for a period of two years, BNS news agency has reported.

The CPE operates as a channel for disseminating information about the role
and policies of NATO, organizes local educational events, and cooperates with
local media, authorities and nongovernmental organizations.

The Foreign Ministry of Lithuania reported that the CPE intends to pay
special attention to work in Ukraine’s regions.

The Lithuanian Embassy to Ukraine will act as NATO CPE in Ukraine, succeeding
the Polish Embassy to Ukraine, which had fulfilled the same role for the last
two years.
