Militants have carried out 40 shell attacks on the Ukrainian military positions in Donbas throughout the day on Wednesday, the anti-terrorist operation press center said.

According to Kyiv, today Luhansk militants carried out two shell attacks on Trokhizbenka from 152 millimeter artillery systems, Novotoshkivske came under a Grad attack, militants fired grenades on Sokolniki, Schastia and again on Novotoshkivske.

This morning militias launched shell attacks on the villages of Pisky and Opytne in Yasynuvata district in Donetsk region, using 120 millimeter mortar launchers and 122 millimeter howitzers. This afternoon they fired the Ukrainian military positions near Donetsk, the press center said on its Facebook page.

“The criminals fired 120- and 82-millimeter mortars on Shyroka Balka near Artemivsk. They fired small-arms and grenades at Zolote and Popasna. In Luhansk area, our fighters were targeted by the enemy’s sniper,” the press center said.

The village of Shyrokyne east of Mariupol was shelled five times during the day “virtually from all types of weapons,” in particular, from 152-millimeter artillery systems, grenade launchers and 120- and 82-millimeter mortar launchers.
