The situation in the special operation zone in Donbas is stable, the militia forces of the self-proclaimed republics are shooting at Ukrainian positions mainly with small arms, the press center of the Ukrainian military operation said on Aug.26.

“The situation in the zone […][of the operation] remained stable on August 26 from midnight until 6 p.m.,” the press center said in a statement on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, cases of use of weapons with a caliber of more than 100mm were reported in the course of the day, the statement said.

At about midnight Ukrainian positions in the settlement of Opytne were shelled with 122mm artillery guns, a tank and 120mm mortars. “The enemy was shooting with 120mm mortars at around 2 p.m. at the residential houses in Krasnohorivka,” it reads.

Ukrainian units in the settlement of Zaitseve came under fire from 152mm artillery guns at about midnight in the Artemivsk direction, Ukrainian military forces came under fire in Luhanske at 1.10 p.m. from 122mm artillery guns and at 2.25 p.m. from 120mm mortars.
