Kyiv's Pechersky District Court will consider a petition on the arrest of Russian businessman Konstantin Malafeyev, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Russian State Duma deputies Gennady Zyuganov, Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Sergei Mironov, and after that they will be placed on the interstate and international wanted list, the Prosecutor General's Office has reported.

“The suspects have currently been put on the state wanted list. The
procedural head yesterday agreed the petition on choosing the measure of
restraint in the form of detention, which was sent today to the
Pechersky District Court,” Prosecutor General’s Office spokesman Yuriy
Boichenko said at a briefing on August 5.

Boichenko recalled that on August 1, these Russian citizens were
notified of being suspects in committing a crime under Article 258
(promoting terrorist activities) and Article 260 (the creation of armed
groups and their funding) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry placed Mironov, Zhirinovsky and Zyuganov on the wanted list on August 4.

As reported, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on August 2 that
its criminal investigation department wants to interrogate several
Russian politicians on suspicion of co-financing and co-organizing
illegal armed groups in eastern Ukraine.

“A message has been sent to Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail
Zurabov about summoning Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Gennady Zyuganov, Sergei
Mironov, Sergei Shoigu and Konstantin Malofeyev for notifying them about
their suspect status and interrogating them as suspects,” the
ministry’s press service reported.
