A district administrative court in Kyiv has opened proceedings in the case of OAO TV Center and ordered a temporary suspension of the broadcasting of the TV Center-International program, the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine said on July 11.

The decision was made by the Kyiv court on July 17, the statement said.

A co-defendant in the case is Vertikal-TV which broadcasts the defendant’s program in Ukraine.

“The court hearing the administrative case compelled Vertikal-TV and the providers of the programming service, which signed contracts with this company, to temporarily suspend the broadcasting on multi-channel channels across Ukraine of the foreign TV Center-International program,” the statement said.

The petitioner claimed that a number of violations were exposed as a result of monitoring, which contained a threat to national information security and violated the Ukrainian law on television and radio broadcasting and of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television during the broadcasting of the foreign TV Center-International program on multi-channel channels of the providers of the programming service in Ukraine, the Ukrainian broadcasting council said in the statement.

“A preliminary hearing has been set for 2 p.m. on August 4. Representatives of all sides will be summoned to it,” the statement said.
