Simferopol - The Ukrainian president's commissioner for the Crimean Tatar people, MP Mustafa Jemilev, and Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov late on Monday, Nov. 24 flew to Turkey to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, the QHA news agency has reported.

Jemilev told the agency that during a one-day visit to Turkey representatives of the Crimean Tatar people were planning to discuss with the Turkish leaders the issues related to the situation with the Crimean Tatars in Crimea. In particular, they will discuss the issue of sending an informal delegation from Turkey to Crimea to monitor the status of the Crimean Tatar people.

As reported, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said during his visit to Kyiv on Nov. 10 that Turkey planned to send an informal delegation to Crimea to study the situation with the Crimean Tatars.
