The Cabinet of Ministers will not be able to index public income earlier than foreseen in Ukrainian law – on Dec. 1, 2015, Finance Minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko has said.

“No earlier than Dec. 1, it’s for sure,” she said while speaking in the parliament on Tuesday.

The minister said that income indexation is impossible before Ukraine’s foreign debts are restructured.

She said that she wants to carry out the indexation of public income as soon as possible, and the government would do this as soon as budget revenues are increased or expenses are cut. She said that the Ukrainian parliament recently passed laws that foresee the increase of budget revenues, but they do not foresee resources for indexation: this concerns judicial reform.

Jaresko added that law enforcement agencies asked the government to finance defense measures worth 17.7 billion.
