You're reading: Interpol specialists start identification of Malaysian jet crash victims’ bodies

Interpol representatives in Kharkiv have started identifying the remains of the people killed in the Malaysia Airlines' plane crash, the organization said on its website.

After preliminary tests the remains are expected to be sent to the Netherlands where a full and proper identification will be conducted in the accordance with the Interpol standards.

Aside from Interpol employees, the procedure also involves experts from other international organizations, the document said.

Earlier on Tuesday the remains of the victims’ bodies were delivered from the crash site to Kharkiv.

Meanwhile, the head of the Dutch mission in Ukraine Jan Tuinder said a plane with the victims’ remains is due to fly out from Kharkiv to the Netherlands on July 23.

The first plane is flying out tomorrow, and we will continue this work… Our current priority is to identify the victims, Tuinder said at a briefing in Kharkiv on July 22.
