You're reading: Interior Ministry says Texas Rangers to train instructors for National Guard special forces

In late September, ten Texas Rangers will travel to Ukraine to start selecting and training 25 officers of the Sokol special forces of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine who will subsequently become part of a subunit of the KORD special forces of the National Police of Ukraine, the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

The agreement to provide the training was made during a meeting between representatives of the Texas rangers with Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov on Tuesday, the press service of the ministry has reported.

‘United States’police officers noted that all their efforts, as are the efforts of their numerous partners, are focused on the best for Ukraine for their experience in reforming the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. In addition, the representatives of the division mentioned their willingness to assist the special forces of the National Police of Ukraine with equipment,’ the report said.

The report said that certain organizational issues still remain, but the parties expressed their readiness to solve them before the beginning of the training.Ukraine needs fast reform, but if this speed influences quality, then only quality will be chosen, Avakov said.

‘When you, together with us, develop this new system, please follow these principles we stick to: less is better, but of higher quality! We will create the core and starting with it, step by step, we will form the whole system,’ Avakov said.

The Texas Ranger Division is a law enforcement agency with statewide jurisdiction in Texas, based in the capital city of Austin.

Texas Rangers investigate crimes ranging from murder to political corruption, act as detectives, protect the Governor of Texas, and track down fugitives.
