The Interior Ministry of Ukraine has said that the ministry has not opened criminal cases against Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva and her deputies.

“The Interior Ministry of Ukraine reports that no criminal cases against Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva and her deputies were registered. No one was informed that he or she is suspected and no other procedural actions are carried out,” the ministry said in response to the relevant information published in media.

Earlier independent MP Vitaliy Kupriy wrote on his Facebook page that after his address to Arsen Avakov the Interior Ministry finally reacted to abuses of NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva and former director of the chief department of banking supervision Alla Shulha. The Pechersk district of the chief department of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in Kyiv launched proceedings under Part 1 of Article 364 (abuse of power or abuse of office) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

He presented a photo copy of the Interior Ministry’s response signed by Interior Minister Avakov to his MP’s request of July 22.
