You're reading: ICU experts believes national budget for 2015 realistic with deficit of 2.5-3 percent

Experts from the ICU investment group have said that it is important to pass the realistic budget of the country for 2015, reads a press release of the group.

“The budget for next year should be calculated using a pessimistic scenario. The realistic volume of revenues should be planned in the national budget and expenses should be formed so that the budget deficit was 2.5-3 percent,” the head of the analytical division of ICU Group Oleksandr Valchishen said.

The expert said that it is impossible to draw up the national budget under a plan designed for at least next three years.

“The government should give a clear signal to the market, creditors, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that it is aimed at cutting budget deficits. The IMF Stand-By Arrangement should be implemented and this should not be done in the last day. We should play with forecasts, as only using this way we can restore trust of internal and external agents,” he said.

Valchishen said that Ukraine’s economy would decline by 6.3 percent in 2014, and by 2percent  in 2015. Only in 2015, the country will be able to restore GDP growth being 3.1 percent.

“Ukraine will face crisis for another year,” he said.

The average annual inflation in 2015 will be higher than in 2014, he said.
