The Ukrainian part of the EU-Ukraine inter-parliamentary association committee will be formed by the end of December and the first meeting will be held in Brussels in January 2015, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration Iryna Heraschenko has said.

“The Ukrainian part will definitely be formed by the end of December,” the press service of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko party quoted her as saying on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Heraschenko stated that during her meeting with the head of the European part of the committee, MEP Andrej Plenkovic, it had been agreed that a joint meeting would be held in Brussels.

“I proposed that the second meeting be held not just in Ukraine, not just in Kyiv, but on the territory of Donbas controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, for example, in Sloviansk, so that MEPs could see with their owns, not through Russian propaganda channels, how the Ukrainian authorities are rebuilding the areas under its control,” she added.
