Five civilians were killed and another nine were wounded in attacks in Luhansk in the past 24 hours, the press service for the Luhansk City Council reported on Friday, Aug. 1.

“Five civilians were killed and nine Luhansk residents, including one
child, sustained bullet wounds and injuries in the continuing shooting
attacks on the city. Emergency services were called 67 times in the past
24 hours,” the report says.

According to the city council, artillery attacks hit several
districts of the city. The shelling caused fires, including in the
Epicenter construction hypermarket. The attacks also damaged a school
and the shopping center Luhan.

Two unexploded shells were found in the yard of a residential
building. A total of four unexploded munitions were found in Luhansk in
the past 24 hours.
